We help our clients achieve a low-carbon portfolio by providing multiple services for low-carbon energy such as hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable fuels, including the design and fabrication of large-diameter absorber columns, and carbon reduction through Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS)
Our services include:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Construction
- Maintenance
- Repair
- Fabrication
- Turnaround services
Hydrogen
Leveraging our extensive experience in gas processing, liquefaction, pressurized and cryogenic storage of hydrogen, LNG, NGLs, oxygen, nitrogen, and other gases, Matrix is well-positioned and experienced to be your partner in the realization of a carbonless energy source: hydrogen (H2).
Matrix is investing considerable research and development efforts to develop the next generation of world-scale liquid hydrogen storage sphered exceeding 20,000 M3 (cubic meters).
Further, Matrix is a member of the Hydrogen Council, and we also work with multiple technology partners to integrate low-carbon projects for our clients.
Last, we have a Memorandum of Understanding with multiple partners to scale up the Hydrogen value chain’s contribution to a clean and diversified energy system.

Ammonia
Ammonia is an effective carrier for hydrogen (H2). Matrix and its sister companies provide Ammonia storage & terminals that assist you in decarbonizing your portfolio. In your journey to a low-carbon environment, Matrix develops solutions to get you to market quickly and efficiently. As world-renowned leaders in cryogenic and refrigerated storage terminaling solutions, we ensure the integrity and safety of your ammonia facilities.
Matrix provided construction services for the first world-scale nitrogen fertilizer complex built in the United States in nearly 25 years.
Matrix also completed full EPFC solutions for a 20,000 ton ammonia tank associated with a plant that produces 100 tons of anhydrous ammonia per day.
Biofuels
For nearly 40 years, we have helped our clients in their low-carbon journey. The scope of projects has included storage, construction, engineering, and maintenance. We design and construct tanks and vessels for biofuel storage, terminals, and process units for plant owner-operators and their facilities.
Our subject matter experts are available to make your project stress-free from FEED studies and permitting, to start up and beyond.
Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage
Carbon capture utilization & storage (CCUS) is an essential method for reducing carbon emissions, where carbon dioxide is removed from a gas stream. Matrix expertise includes quality construction solutions, where our subject matter experts tailor cost-effective, innovative solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
Our expertise includes projects in the design and fabrication of storage tanks and specialty vessels that remove CO2 from the atmosphere and use it in the production of methanol and other fuels.
