Calpine Corporation – Ontelaunee Energy Center

As the general contractor, Matrix NAC installed 2 Siemens 501F 185 MW gas turbines, 1 Siemens Steam Turbine, and 2 Nooter Erickson Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGS) at the Ontelaunee Energy Center.

In addition to the installation of the Power Island Equipment, our scope of work consisted of the installation of all the Balance of Plant equipment, piping, electrical, the field erected tanks and cooling tower. The project was successfully completed by utilizing direct hire labor supplemented with specialty subcontractors.

The execution of the project maximized the use of vendor fabricated skids and pre-assembly work in remote areas to minimize peak manpower and overall site congestion. The project was given the highest score by the customer among ongoing projects for their “Highest Quality Jobsite” program.
