TransCanada – Halton Hills 683 MW Combined Cycle Station
Location: Halton Hills, Ontario
Matrix NAC was awarded, as a joint venture, the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Halton Hills Generating Station. Matrix provided complete design, construction, and construction management for the entire project, including setting owner furnished major equipment, subcontract management (aboveground electrical and piping, and specialty items), and start-up and commissioning.
Matrix took a green-field construction approach to maximize the use of vendor fabricated skids and pre-assembly work in non-congested areas, minimizing peak workforce and craft personnel density in the power island area.
Since 2014, the Halton Hills Generating Station has contributed to the Provincial commitment to reduce coal-fired generation.
